Self Defence Training

Introduction

My aim is to teach simple Self Defence techniques that can be performed by anyone regardless of physical strength or size.  The focus is on core principles and basic techniques, rather than brute strength. 

For all Self Defence sessions I tailor the content I deliver according to the individual or group I am training.  Many people choose to learn Self Defence with a certain senario in mind or as a result of something that has happened to them or someone they know.  

I will also cover some core techniques that are effective in any physical confrontation. 

Typical sessions

Personal - Sessions can be tailored to individual needs and offer the most effective training. This can be arranged and delivered in a location of your choosing.  

Group - Sessions can be offered to groups of 5-15 people. Typically groups sign up for 6 beginner sessions and progress onto intermediate classes at their own pace. 

Corporate - Classes are suitable for one-off corporate events or regular lunch time sessions.  

Examples of the situations that I have recently covered during typical sessions include: 

- maintaining control of your personal space and conflict avoidance
- simple defence against the most common attacks
- basic striking techniques - I spend some time to ensure these are delivered with speed and power to be effective
- dealing with grabs, chokes and struggles and how to avoid this happening
- what to do if pinned to the ground
- multiple attacker scenarios
- surviving weapon attacks
- effective grappling/anti-grappling techniques

There is always some 'free space' to explore questions that arise during the training session.

All levels of fitness welcome.
